Right? We all know about this, we talk about this, we are aware of this, and yet it's still collapsing. The bad elements and bad activities are increasing in society at an exponential rate. But, have you wondered why?
Every time a crime happens, be it a murder or theft or eve teasing or rape, you just see the story of that case in the news channel and nod your head thinking, "oh, so that was his wicked mind". But, how can so many people become wicked minded so rapidly.
The actual reason is pretty simple. The actual reason is you.
Shocked? Most of you must be thinking, "what non-sense is this video" and about to close the video. But, how about you listen to me for couple of minutes.
If you are not a social media icon, then you must have thought at least once of becoming one. But, when you tried to do something good, what you saw?
Good things doesn't get viral in social media. Maybe some time it does, but the probability is very less. And that is a fact!
Then the question arises, what works in social media? Funny things? Good scripts? Good edited videos?
Answer is no. What works in social media is simply the things, we are not taught not to do in our childhood. Think about it!
What kind of funny videos you watch? Is it pure comedy, or is it filled with slang, objectifying women, normalizing eve teasing, normalizing violence or something similar?
Take roasting in comedy for a moment. What is it? Let's google it.
According to Wikipedia,
A roast is a form of comedy, originating in American humor, in which a specific individual, a guest of honor, is subjected to jokes at their expense, intended to amuse the event's wider audience. Such events are intended to honor a specific individual in a unique way. In addition to jokes and insult comedy, such events may also involve genuine praise and tributes.
The assumption is that the roastee can take the jokes in good humor and not as serious criticism or insult. The individual is surrounded by friends, fans, and well-wishers, who can receive some of the same treatment during the evening. The party and presentation itself are both referred to as a roast. The host of the event is called the roastmaster, since it rhymes with and plays on toastmaster. Anyone mocked in such a way is said to have been roasted.

Does it really match with what we are seeing everyday on social media? If you ask me, all i see is pure insults in the name of comedy.
In India AIB organized the live show AIB Knockout in January 2015 featuring
Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh with Karan Johar as the roastmaster. The
programme caused a controversy for allegedly featuring distasteful, sexist,
offending, and humiliating content. Videos of the event were removed from
YouTube.
Yes, videos of the event were removed! Fast forward to 9 years, every one is roasting or should I say insulting one another in the name of comedy. But, how we changed so much in just a few years?
A lot to cover here. A lot of reasons can be marked -
